Description and Responsibilities
The IT Pathways Instructor assists the IT Pathways and Education Manager in teaching and training participants in various computer and media projects to increase job skills, self-confidence, connection to their community, and post-secondary education and training readiness.

Under the direct supervision of the IT Pathways and Education Manager, the IT Pathways Instructor will perform the following functions:
Collaborate with IT Pathways and Education Manager to: Plan, develop, coordinate projects and certification training; Evaluate members’ performance;Recruit and orient new members;
Report project updates as needed or requested;
Develop curriculum or lesson plans, course content, and course materials that relate to current projects;
Teach and train participants over Computer hardware repair and software installation, Illustrator, Screen Printing, Web Design, and other technological skills;
Track and record participant attendance, service hours, and academic progress via Google Documents or Database System;
Participate in recruiting, and managing volunteer instructors or Full-Time AmeriCorps classroom assistant to teach workshops that help expand participant knowledge base;
As needed work with Case Managers to assist in addressing participant issues;
Work with AYW staff on participant training, special event planning, and special needs;
Other duties as requested or assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, UX Design, or Graphic Design, Digital; or Bachelor’s Degree in Art or Science;
Two years experience in the computer technology field, teaching technology skills, and previous related experience working with academically and socially at-risk opportunity youth and young adults with criminal records and a variety of lifestyles, behaviors, cultural and spiritual practices. Related experience in jobs training, youth development, working with contracts, reporting measurements, audit request, compliance, member coordination and, or working as a YouthBuild/AmeriCorps;
EQUIVALENT: Associate’s degree in the specified or related field and 2 years of work experience such as described in the essential functions and duties of the job description; or High school diploma or GED and 4 years of work experience such as described in the essential functions and duties of the job description.
