POSITION OVERVIEW:


The Senior Manager, Economic Development will be a key partner in paving the way for Shipt’s economic development and social impact strategy. You will serve as the resident subject matter expert and operate as a strategic advisor to our team and partners by creating and executing strategies in partnership with the VP Economic Development and Social impact in order to drive change across our key markets, improve internal infrastructure, and build strong partnerships across Shipt and our broader community.



RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provide logistical support to VP and broader team

  • Serve as our team’s logistics and operational guru

  • Connect the dots and keep the internal engine of our team running

  • Support our internal volunteer coordination of our employee resource groups, and shopper experience teams

  • Coordinate and attend internal and external meetings 

  • Prepare presentations and reports, as needed

  • Act as an internal and external liaison with constituents 

  • Partner with team to draft external communications regarding our corporate philanthropy and initiatives 

  • Ensure expenses and grants are approved on the agreed upon timeline

  • Manage team event calendar



QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Public or Business Administration, Political Science, Economic Development, Urban Planning, Economics, or a related field, preferred

  • 5+ years driving economic development or business development strategy 

  • 5+ years of building community partnerships across private and public sector

  • Knowledge of and experience in economic development organizations and economic development programs

  • Proven ability to successfully drive an economic development strategy 

  • Experience working with/in city, county, state, non-profit, and federal government entities to steward cohesive sustainable strategies

  •  Strong oral and written communication skills 

  • Knowledge of trends, developments, and techniques in the field of economic development.

  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and juggle multiple tasks.

  • Proven track record of continuous improvement through problem-solving, producing solutions, and critical thinking

  • Strong sense of urgency, with proven ability to act swiftly under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and processes
