Within Methodology Consulting Services (MCS) the Solutions Architect specializes in leveraging industry best practices to designing compelling future state solutions for NI’s clients as they embark on journeys of digital transformation. As a key member of the MCS team, they provide industry and application leadership required to envision credible and effective prescriptions of what people, process and technology adjustments are required by the client to reach desired business outcomes. The Solutions Architect must be able to apply engineering principles to the complex problems that identified during MCS engagements to define solutions that can be effectively integrated to serve the needs of NI customers.
Client-facing during the assessment phase, Solution Architects provide valuable industry experience and application workflow insight to effectively assess and diagnose challenges, value impact and root cause issues in clients current state of test. During this phase, Solution Architects have the foresight to be collecting client needs and requirements
After assessment, Solution Architects are responsible to lead the development of future state of client workflows, technologies and processes that would produce the economic outcomes desired by the client. Solution Architects assist the Consultants in preparing executive level recommendations that include current state diagnosis as well as high level future state recommendation
Solution Architects will collaborate with a wide group of NI Solution Specialists, Product Planners and partners to accurately research where NI and other technologies apply and could form a solid basis for a multi discipline client solution that is mutually beneficial. Working with NI Planning Architects they will assist in developing a client plan to move from current state into envisioned future state at the appropriate rate and steps
Solution Architects use their industry/application experience to bring the client-centered credibility and insight required to collaborate to find optimal technical solutions to project challenges. Work within a range of obstacles when trying to get systems to work together: different operating systems, different programming and database languages, legacy systems that no longer have vendor support
Working with Test System Software, Solution Architects will analyze a customer’s test systems used for validation or production, be able to understand their underlying technology such as hardware elements, software stack including sequencing, test modules, measurement/instrument I/O and data storages. Whilst SA’s should have understanding of test role within product design and factory production processes within a customer’s Enterprise infrastructure, the primary expertise should align with test and measurement software technologies and implementation tradeoffs
SAs should be familiar with NI technology platforms, product roadmaps as well as experienced in managing test development engineers utilizing the NI platform. The SA will have the insight into optimizing test development for validation or production outcomes
Finally, Solution Architects shape the development and final state of the solution to align with the business outcomes needed by the client and NI. They not only know industry best practices, but help create them
